Fold on table or fly

Post by giro »

I dont know if this topic is repeat.

But when you fold, use a table or can fold on fly(dont know if correct word)

I normaly fold on table, but i try to lear to fold on fly, yes more difficul and possible more error, but i think more relaxing.

more opinions

It always depends on what you fold. For most models I usually start folding on a table (or similar) for the precreasing steps, etc. Then when it gets into the details I don't find a table useful anymore and continue folding in the air.

This is most obvious with CPs, where I do all (or most) of the creases on a table, but the collapsing and finishing process is done totally in air.
So long and keep folding ^_^

Another important thing is a size of the paper. When you cannot handle that part of the paper which you want to fold by hands you must fold on the table. I think it is possible to approx. 25x25 cm.

Typically:

1. All pre-creasing is done on the table for complex folds
2. Anything over 12" is folded on the table until it is more manageable to fold in the air.
3. 6"-12" only the initial diagonals and bookfolds are done on the table
4. <6" Folded in the air.

Typically these days my 'table' is a metal backed Allsop mousemat available from all good ASDA stores in the UK.
