Finally done with bottom half base :D I must say that it was really fun! I enjoyed every moment of shaping scales and they took like 8 hours to fold in period of 3 days... Whole bottom half base took like 20 hours to fold and I think I can do it even faster next time I fold it...
Here are some pics:

I've been working on a scaled 5 headed dragon today (complete with wings, hands and legs. And I'm basing it on the scaley design of the ryujin. I only now realise how easy it is to fold the crease pattern rather than draw every single line on the paper (many of the lines follow the 96x96 grid), which is what I did on the previous two attempts. I shall use this new found knowledge for a 3rd attempt at the ryujin.

I feel like and idiot right now

Two things:
I finished making the photodiagrams for my Ryujin 3.5 course. Here is what my folder looks like on the computer-

The course is closed to new students. It may reopen one day.
Some students are very close to the end!

I also made my first Dragon of Emperor! It's pretty fun. Where was this ever officially called "Ryujin 1.2?" I am curious.

Hello,
This is like my fifth attemp to do RyuZin 2.1 and this time I want it to look good, so if veterans here can help me, it would be great. so I post a couple of questions:
In the final shaping of the model, you guys use glue to paste the scales to the side of the model, or jus MC ? (I leave a picture)
Image
I´m thinking to put glue in the green dot that you see in the image, and do it also in the other side

Also, do you use wire in the legs of the model, like across the whole model?

Thanks

Hi, Libardo! You're Ryujin is looking extremely good!

First question: Yes, you need to put glue in the part just a little left to the green dots. If you put glue very farther off, then the finished body will not be long enough and will be really hard curving it into a pose full of pride and dragon rearing.

Second question: Yes, you need to put an extremely strong wire inside the whole body (But don't put it inside the head or else it'll tear) and glue or tape it inside the body. :)

Hope it helps! Good luck with the ryujin!

And btw, sharpen the scales a little bit. They're not lying flat to the body. It won't but just sharpen them a little for better shaping.
We're all stories in the end.

The scales are going backwards and half the scales' diagonal pleats are falling the wrong way. Maybe see if you can redo them before gluing it closed.

Well, it's been two years since I've completed the bottom half of my ryu zin 2.1 and I've come back to finish it!

I've done the transition units and legs on the top half, but now I'm stuck. Do I start in the corner and collapse the head, working my way to the head-neck connection? Or do I fold the head-neck connection first and leave the head for last?
