Thanks! I wish I'd had time to refold it with a bigger sheet (its pretty naff round the back  ) but it was very last minute.

Guess I'm skipping my introduction

My first small post in this forum with a small rose I made(The size of the square was 14*14cm and the finished flowers has a *diameter of about 5cm).

HankSimon that is not a bluebird because the top of bluebirds wings are completely blue. It is not a tree swallow or a swift for the same reason, although these birds are black not blue. you can google it if you like.

sorry, but calling your model something that it isn't when it could be called what it is is a pet peave of mine :P

Thanks for the nice replies :)

To fold the rose I used a offcut piece of banana paper.

True, it is not a bluebird, yet. But, it IS a beginning and it is encouragement, which is something that all new creators need and appreciate. :-)

Thanks for the comments :D
I had no bird in particular in mind when folding, just my ideas/feelings of bird-ness, though having said that, I can change the colour of the wings (or the head, belly or tail) quite easily... I just used a blintz fold on my original design so there is plenty of paper to play with.
I had never seen a bluebird before today, hopefully I'll see one in the flesh someday, they're really very beautiful.
