Re: Submit your wishes to see diagrams in Drawing Origami Co
Thanks for much for all your proposition. Already 3 Pages on this topic ! That's so wonderful and we didn't think that we could received so many projects. With Halle and Pere, we are studying which models we are going to selected. We are working both for the new publication and also for the next publications. Indeed, the choice of models in a book is a delicate balance between many parameters: degrees of difficulty, theme .... And for example, a wonderful dog will be add only in a futur book because the new book include already a dog ...etc.
Your propositions on this topic open our mind to wonderful new models and will help us to propose to you the best for the next Drawing Origami.
I'm happy to tell you that the proposition by PhylBx is now alive.
Killer Whale by KOSUGE Akihiro will be in the Drawing Origami Tome 2
Folding sequence is already drawn and we are actually working on the creases and layout

Please continue to propose us more models ! We study all propositions !
Thanks for your support

Re: Submit your wishes to see diagrams in Drawing Origami Co
Hi, Nicolas!
I would love to have my pink published in his next book, as you said separating by "themes" I would like to represent the flowers. I had my first publication in 2014 in origamiMIT Convention, an orchid diagrammed by Marcio Noguchi. This rose is very simple, I used a frog base and I was inspired by a traditional model. Thank U!

Great to hear the new Drawing Origami book will arrive at the end of this year, a lot of us don't need to search anymore for their own present! The samurai from Karol Kafarski certainly has to be in it(some people like me would buy the book only for that model!!!) and another model by Sébastien Limet(Last Temptation, Dead men's chest or Origin) would be highly appreciated.

I'm willing to diagram my Lion, Unicorn, Alicorn, Husky, Rose, and Lily, maybe a few others. Which ones would best fit the book's theme?

We are not focusing only on the theme. We need first models with an elegant, interesting and clear folding sequence, and we try to avoid Box pleating (even if we always want to add a few box pleating models, in order to represent all origami approaches). You are the one who know how to fold your model. Please propose us the model you think have the best folding sequence.

Also, it would really be something different and unique if you included a crumpling model. The diagraming for it would be unorthodox though.

it might help to do some research before posting requests.
both the owl of beth johnson and rhino of artur bienecki have been diagrammed.

Why avoid box pleated models?

We accept of course Box pleating model; as we done before for example with The Horselaugh in Drawing Origami. But we try to not add too much boxpleating because:
- It's a pain to find a folding sequence (we want to avoid the 3 steps Precrease/Collapse/Shape
- It's a pain for Halle to draw Box-pleating (see step 23 page 198 : the cartoon boy is crying showing the collapsing step = it's a private joke by Halle telling he cried trying to draw this step.
- It's a pain to find a way to explain correctly how to collapse sometime (I'm still fighting on the draky's diagram which is finished but need additional explanation otherwise only box-pleating expert could fold it.
draky by Sunburst by Pere Olivella, on Flickr
So a lot of work for Box pleating but we are ok to do that for some incredible models.
The red Samouraï is so a perfect candidat that we could add on DOT2 if we find a way to diagram it
