Dragonfly

Designed and folded by me.
One uncut square
38x38 cm bananafiber paper
22.5 degree ( I love those 22.5 degree insects :D )
This design is actually a few months old, but I never was satisfied with it, so a few days ago, I improved it a bit and found a good way of shaping.
This model has a relatively nice folding sequence with almost no precreasing, but you have to do lots of sinks and shaping is kinda difficult.
I used photoshop to make the Dragon"fly"

I decided to go for a classic czechoslovakian car, because it's close to home and probably my favourite car ever in terms of looks.

Tatra T87

The real thing had an air-cooled V8 in the back and three headlights in the front.

It's also got suicide doors in the front and regular doors in the back. how cool is that?

Despite being a limousine used by polititians, two reckless dudes have successfully taken it on expeditions to Africa and South America, which is probably the main reason why the car earned such a good name for itself and even international fame.

It has been voted as the best collector's car of 2010 by The New York Times

For the exhibition "Mujeres de Papel" I refolded some of my models.

It has volume, right? If so, I'd love to see pictures from different angles.

I had not seen that model. It's so creative :D.

Lever

Demonstration of Lever: https://www.facebook.com/neorigami2/vid ... 8127861379

It's one of the six simple machines identified by Renaissance scientists, it can amplify a force like weight for example. I designed it using a grid. I folded it in a 27 x 27 cm (10 5/8 in) velvety paper so the objects didn't slide down. Many action origami models use kinematics, which are based on the interconection of different levers. In that sense, origami owes a great deal to levers ;).

Balance

And this is a picture of the model before collapsing. It isn't showing every crease from every fold in the model:

Just like every balance is based on the lever, my design is a variation of my origami lever. That means its also designed using a grid, in this case folded from a 34 x 34 cm (13 3/8 in) Most of it's bars are twelveths but some are even forty-eighths. In that case should I call it a 12 x 12 grid or a 48 x 48 grid?

Both models include some form of extra weight inside their bases. I designed them both in August for the monthly challenge. Don't leave without checking out the demonstration links ;).

The balance is really great, by far the best executed origami balance I've seen so far.

can't disagree with that. Really well-folded but more importantly it really looks mechanical which fits the theme of the challenge to the T. Congrats for the win! :)
