How do you cut a square

I need to cut a 60cm square but how can I cut a perfect square?

Thanks but those threads don't tell me how to cut a perfect square. They only mention the tools used. In that video, I don't know how that guy managed to cut a square using a ruler. I used a ruler too but it was not a perfect sqaure

Sure they do - read them again, carefully. There were at least three methods showing how to cut good squares. The rest is just practice.

i think the best way would be to have different sized solid metal squares. But are there any places that sell 60cm plastic/metal squares?

As was mentioned here you can get wooden plates cut to your desired sizes at building centres and similar stores.

Here's how I do it. Take your irregular piece of paper and fold it roughly in half so that the folded edge lies vertical and pointing to your left. Fold the bottom up so that the folded edge lies on itself (thus bisecting a perfect 180 angle and producing perfect 90 angles.) NB Watch out for creep. Cut along the fold you just made (you might want to open up so you only cut through one layer, remember to close again.)(best is to slide a sharp knife inside the fold and to cut outward). Repeat at the top. If you want 60cm, make the top fold 60cm from the bottom. Halve by bringing the two newly created edges together. Bring the edge you made first up to the edge you just made (only on one of the two flaps) to form the first part of the final squares diagonal. Open it all up. Complete one of the diagonals. Rotate 90 and halve vertically to form a new edge. Fold the bottom up along the edge like the first time, but the right also lines up. Make this fold so it meets the diagonal. Cut. Repeat top and viola!
