I apologize. I didn't mean any offense to you. It's just that it was up for almost three days... perhaps we need more mods then?

Excellent response Anna...love it! "The bottom line" is that JM is removed from the "normal" world beyond his perfect bubble. Then, presents an idea common to the inefficiency of the government, which thinks throwing more people at a problem will solve it. I'm sure he would love to be that keen "mod" all over every post censoring anything and everything. Art and censorship? Did someone mumble ayatollah?
Also, a quote from Kamiya himself:
"Basically, drawing diagrams is not my prime concern.....I basically have no motivation for diagramming."
=)
Have a nice day!

Rod, this is turning into harrassment if you weren't aware.
There's four mods, and only Anna and Chris are really the ones who have been able to maintain the forum. Suggesting the addition of another was all I was asking.
And even though Kamiya may not have motivation for diagramming, he does anyway. His works are appearing every year in the Tanteidans so obviously he's diagramming even if he doesn't feel like it.

I know JM...both of us have different definitions. I call it negative reinforcement. I have hope. I promise you that if you work on you, we/I will be better. mmm-K?
Kamiya...yes he does diagram. I give you this. But I have 2 questions. Say he never diagrams something everyone wants him to diagram and people are in pain to produce said thing.
Does a complete photo-diagram of said thing break the rules of diagraming? A semi-complete does not? Does a complilation of semi's to produce a full said thing send you to Elba?
Does the magic of changing a photo-diagram to become a line art diagram treated the same as an innocent photo-diagram?
gray area: yes
unethical: we all have been
noble: this forum for trying their best

Of course there's a gray area, but what I said about the diagram for the Phoenix 3.5 doesn't sit there. If you weren't aware of the poll on Kamiya's site, this phoenix is sitting at the top by a large margin. The reason he has this poll is to know what should be in his next compilation. A full-fledged step-by-step diagram created without the author's permission is definitly not in the gray area.
How about you stop modding me on subjects I'm not even talking about and get back on topic. You blamed this forum for making you get off topic last time, but it's obviously your unsatiable hunger to drag on this old argument at fault. Let's just end it here. If you want to make responses to things I say, just PM me. Nobody else wants to hear it obviously.

not to continue to be off topic, but this forum is kind of slow in general. i mean, days can pass before even popular threads get new posts. that's not a value judgement btw.JeossMayhem wrote: There's four mods, and only Anna and Chris are really the ones who have been able to maintain the forum. this forum would not need more moderators if people would stick to the forum rules and (ethics).
In fact, I enjoy this forum and it would not be there if it was not for the mods.
So, thank you to all the moderators and all the pro-active contributors!!

Well put, Quentin.
Here are some of the forum rules that people should read before posting the things we've been having trouble with lately. As put by the admin snkahn:
2) Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning or ban.
4) Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Linking to diagrams, crease patterns etc is not permissable unless if you have permission from the author.
9) DO NOT ask for copyrighted diagrams from books, CDs etc. Users are encouraged to use the Origami Database to find the location of these diagrams. Members making such requests will be warned or banned, and furthermore we will lock any such topics.

It may be slow compared to other forums, but I would not say that days pass before even popular threads get new posts. Well, if by days you mean 2, then perhaps. But the "What have you folded lately?" topic rarely doesn't get several posts a day. And to be fair, honestly, this is an origami forum. Not too many people do origami.bethnor wrote:not to continue to be off topic, but this forum is kind of slow in general. i mean, days can pass before even popular threads get new posts.
Either way, an entire forum is a lot to manage. Addition of another mod might be something to consider if the current ones are hard-pressed for time for reviewing everything. And just because someone says that does not mean that they want to be a mod. There is such a thing as saying something that isn't for your own personal gain.
In my opinion there are enough Moderators on this Forum. Too many Moderators only step on each others feet and are most of the time not necessary. At present there are three active Moderators including Saj, Chris and me. Saj is the one to thank for keep everything running. He's loading updates of the Forum software, doing all the things behind the szene and most important paying the webspace that we all are using here.
I'm only doing the visible things like editing posts, warning and banning members...
Maybe I should apologize that I weren't able to read the Forum for two days because I was in a very bad condition and preferred to go to bed instead, but hej, there are two other active Moderators to rely on.
Usually such things like illegal copyrighted material gets deleted within a day.

A repost from the How To forum:
Check How to behave on an internet forum: http://boortz.com/more/video/how_to_beh ... forum.html some people could learn one or two things from it. Or get a laugh out of it, whatever.

i guess my point is that i just don't think this forum is busy enough to require another mod. trolls are non-existent (no "origami is for loozerz, lawlz!"), i've never seen a flame-war. the most that seems to happen are the (admittedly quite heated) debates about copyright and the "grey area"... the short of it, i guess, is that i wouldn't blame the mods at all if they weren't on here 24/7.
