Start by deciding what features you want to include. Ask yourself these questions: what features define Cloud? What features do you need so people will recognize the model? What details do you need to leave out to make the model foldable? Do you want an asymmetric model including his sword or do you want to fold it from a separate piece of paper? Do you want color changes? Where do you want each flap to come from (thin flaps from the edges, thick flaps from the middle, color-changed flaps from the edges, etc.)? There are lots of things to decide that affect how your model will look, so make sure to think it through before designing.

thx for the help but i was realy goin for a possible base, im haveing trouble getting a 4 limbed base but also, to get the hair. the idea i had for the hair is something like the beggining of a phoenix diagram i saw once.
it started as a kinda zig-zag pattern on the edge, than a bunch of reverse folds to create points of the hair.
if any one has a human base, plz comment while i check SEARCH.
many thx

He definately need the hair with one big spike in the front. Costume depends on which cloud you want to do. I'm partial to the Advent Children on but the little side cape might be hard to fold. Although, if you could fold that in place of an arm..... As for bases? Maybe look at some other human origami figues to get ideas because its not just getting four points, well five actually because you need a head too, but it has to be proportionate with a human body.....

I was thinking about what to do as i made random folds in a sheet of paper, than thought "what if i first folded an angel. than converted the wings into a cape of some sort, makeing the sword seperate." if this sounds like an idea worth trying, and have a good angel i could use plz speak up, it would realy be some help

With complex subjects like this there probably isn't a base that would work perfectly. You should read up about boxpleating and come up with your own base, it's not that hard once you learn how.
Part of the problem is that he has a sword in one hand, and nothing in the other-- this makes an asymmetrical base, which is much less common.
Eileen Tan's blog has some good explanations of boxpleating:

Also, several topics on this forum deal with box pleating.
Good Luck!

How much experience do you have with designing? I would recommend something simpler, like starting with a very basic humanoid shape, maybe with a sword. Then, add on details, making your design slightly more complex with each revision (the hair, chestplate, fingers, etc). I've shot too high plenty of times without achieving something I was happy with, a feeling I only got through baby steps.
I agree with ahudson though. Box-pleating is a great option and it makes the revisions on your model very easy to visualize.

That would be extremely hard. Something that would be cool is the wolf head (it's supposed to be a wolf not a lion, it's representative of the 'lone wolf' they show in the movie) itself. It would be more plausible as a single piece rather try to add something that complex onto and already complex model.Rdude wrote:I'd personally love to see someone design the Advent Children Cloud, especially with the 3-d lion face emblem on his shoulder plate. That would be amazing.
