Same here! When I first started folding, I only looked for origami dragon diagrams online, ignoring everything else. Obviously that was a complete waste of time.
I've fallen down, and I can't get up.

I like folding dragons as well, since they are my favorite fantasy creatures, but also human figures. It also seems like I have an easier time designing those than anything else... for the moment.

Why a waste of time? Dragon diagrams are like the most common diagrams on the net. Just look on http://www.origami.com : there are more dragon diagrams than anything else!

When I said waste of time, I was referring to the ones with toes. Sorry for not being clear.

I just finished folding my first dragon design that I am happy with last night-it is close-backed with claws, nice wings, and spines on the back. I will probably post pictures when I stop being too lazy to photograph my work. Unfortunately, it is from foil so it will probably not photograph well.

Most pleasant to fold for me are dinosaurs, beacause you can get great results with a lot of different paper.
In addition you've a challenge with two-legged dinosaurs to make them stand in balance.
They are also my favourie subject in origami, because my interest in origami started with them.
And they give a lot of different challanges in the folding-procedure. With horns, barbed, theeth and claws and sometimes special things like the sail on the back of dimetrodon.

F. Kawahata's dimetrodon folded by me. (Background: red tissue)
Size: 12cm long (Origamipaper: 20cm square)

AND NOT TO FORGET, my most favourite dinosaur (and origami model):
F. Kawahata's Stegosaurus folded by me.
Size: 24cm long and 11cm high ("Normal" paper: 60cm square)
