Diagrams and CP for my centaur..need help

Post by oswalakhil »

Hi everyone! I finally managed to draw rough diagrams and CP for my centaur...the photos might not be that clear.

I need help in the finishing part, especially for the upper body(i'm really bad at that).
There are 2 steps with no reference points...u'll just have to fold and see what ratio looks right, for the back legs and tail

It will be great if someone can test fold and suggest improvements
thanks :)

If there is any confusion in the diagram/Cp please reply here or drop an email

@rockmanex6: (edit sorry... ) yes there is another similar inside reverse fold before opening the flap..or a valley fold after opening it..
thanks
step 28 is a crimp inside and then outside, making the body shorter
yea i am looking for a better head...nothing worked yet..

@enraka: yes...first design :)

it would be nice if someone puts up a photo of their attempt...the final shaping can be made much better...i wasnt able to diagram that part properly

Hi, you should really try to get the dimensions on the diagrams better. In step 17 my model looked completely different even though I'm sure I did everything according to your diagrams. Some minor changes from my side would include to turn the model around after step 2 and include an arrow to step 6 (the text isn't readable on this step). There's an Inside reverse fold missing in step 12 or alternative a valley fold in step 13.
I had a really hard time figuring out step 15 from your instructions. Maybe something like "Valley fold the top layers down on both sides as shown, allowing the attached paper to swing down and form a swivel." would describe it better. To hold the model in the shown positions didn't seem to make it any easier for me. In step 19 I couldn't reproduce the swivel.
After this step I only used the diagrams as an approximate guide but didn't follow exactly.

Here is my finished model:

I'm really sorry for that...I know i need to work on the dimensions...since it was first time I drew them really rough!
Thanks a lot Anna for your suggestions...as soon as I get a few more I'll draw them again..and more neatly

Corrections: Step 6- says open out to previous step

Step 15: As Anna said, "Valley fold the top layers down on both sides as shown, allowing the attached paper to swing down and form a swivel."
( i really didnt knw how to frame that properly :( )

Step 19: The flap needs to be pulled out in step 18 to allow the swivel in 19...the front leg is folded to half, the part on the right should swivel down on its own

somehow my hands came longer...i'll check that section of the diagrams and post again
thanks a lot for the suggestions

Actually I did fold out the paper in step 18, but when I folded the leg in half there was no paper attached for the swivel. I could have just folded some paper down, but saw no reason to do so.

My arms initially where longer but got shorter when I folded the fingers and made a crimp to give the illusion of clothes.
