Lang's Butterfly (from Origami Insects II)

Post by DavidW »

I've tried my best to search but can't find any previous threads on this model. I have a big problem and a small problem.

Big problem: I can't complete step 20. If I flatten the top then the bottom will cease to be flat since it's all connected by a bird base. I can provide a picture if it's needed to understand my problem.

Small problem: I would like to know if there are precreases to make it easier to precisely execute the kind of squash fold you see in step 9, it pops up alot, especially in Lang's models and if it's off by even a little bit it kind of ruins the whole thing. I noticed that if I did one right, I could use it to do simple precreasing for the others. But there has to be a better way.

Please help me.

You could make all folds first with the CP, then fold the model.

I think that fold is post-base, but I can try, it will certainly solve my smaller problem. I'll give it a try and post back.
