I think there is a monthly meeting, maybe at the Museum of History (?), but I don't know the dates, and not sure about the location.

You could try writing directly to Robert Lang, I believe he is the current POC (?).

This was sent over the Origami Mailing List today:
Folding Sunday - NYC, USA: Museum of Natural History
(Formerly Folding-Free-For-All)

Origami Sunday will be held this Sunday (May 23) in
Children's Lunchrooms in the basement of the Museum
of Natural History. This is the room reserved for
most of the fourth Sunday meetings until the end of
the year, except for April 25 , July 25, Oct. 24,
Nov. 28, and Dec. 26 when they will be held in in
the Rose Center Classroom.

Any OrigamiUSA members in or visiting the New York
City area on the 4th Sunday of each month are
welcome to join our monthly folding meetings at the
American Museum of Natural History from 1:00 to 4:00
PM.

Please bring folding paper plus something to share.
It's especially appreciated if you bring a model to
teach, but if you're not comfortable teaching yet
please bring something else to contribute such as a
model to show that you've been enjoying folding, an
origami book or newsletter others might find of
interest, or paper for the group. We will have a
special sharing table" set aside for display of
models to teach, models to show, books,
publications, and paper contributions.

These monthly meetings are a continuation of the
tradition Lillian Oppenheimer began over 50 years
ago of encouraging paperfolders to get together to
teach each other and exchange ideas. OrigamiUSA is
able to provide a meeting space - the rest is up to
those attending. When you arrive at the museum
please check at any information desk for the meeting
room number.
The folding sessions are similar to the informal
folding at convention.

Marcio Noguchi will be running the meeting since I
will not be able to attend this Month.

Due to convention there will not be any folding at
the Musuem in June.

See you all next month at the convention.

Thank you for the input, the NYC meeting was a success!!!
I was only 27 miles away but it was a 3 hour drive with New York traffic, 25 dollars to park and a 3 mile hike there. But I actually got to see other people besides myself folding, it was amazing! I didnt get to learn anything but I did get to teach two of my models and that was alot of fun. Especially being able to explain the techniques in origami jargon instead of laymans terms. I can't wait to do it again!

So I guess there really are folders out there, we are just few and very far between.

I am in Branford Connectitcut now if any of you are around let me know.

I am in St. Louis Missouri for 2 weeks.

I have a new model diagramed but I think i like the base more than the end result so I'm holding back on posting it.
