Well I'm giving this a try for the first time.
I tried to create a specific shell design, I was marginally successful.
Rule #1: Significant modification of old design: it might look I ripped off Lang's Murex BUT I only took the concept of using flaps to denote spikes in the shell, and one flap to make the shell. The base and folds to make the flaps are completely different, and no point splitting was used.
Rule #2: Square only.
Rule #3: No cuts, no glue I folded from kami.

and here is what it should look like!
So the shape isn't right but I did manage to make something with a 3d curvy shell and five spikes, two of which are larger than the other three.

Here's my submission for the month... Dracula! I think I got in a Halloween mood early this year.
My model is influenced by a number of depictions of Dracula... including filmic portrayals by Lugosi, Lee and Langella, his appearance in the Castlevania games, the illustrations of Edward Gorey and a couple of really awesome origami models by Sunburst and Matt Slayton.
Apart from just meeting the curved fold requirement for this month's challenge, I wanted to communicate Dracula's ability to transform in the shaping of his cape. I hope I have succeeded.

The world's worst photographer now has a flickr account... enjoy!

Yeah, I agree with razzmatazz, you stand a good chance of winning with that model. It's amazing.

Another last-minute entry, but first a warning: some may find paper nudity offensive, so beware! As this is probably NSFW, here is a link rather than an embedded photo of my centerfold design: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jon_tucker/4946999538/

My last minute 2nd entry:
A SPOON!
Many curves in this, unfortunately I am not so good at capturing the essence of curves, so I took many photos.
Really easy to make. Just take a square and pleat corner to center over and over then shape it and voila! Probably been made before, that's how easy it must have been.

Congratulations to everyone who participated!!! All of the entries are great, and everyone who submitted should be proud of their work. In this competition have seen many wonderful works. Most of them deserve to be winners. But unfortunately the winner can be only one. Do not judge strictly my humble opinion.
So, and the winners are...
In 3rd place, paperlion
Really great job. And i love curved forms, but not quality picture and fold. Sorry, it is only the third place.
In 2nd place juston and gachepapier
Absolutely stunning works. I confess that I very long time could not decide which works to select in the first place, because each deserves to be the first ... Amazing shots and folds, but, sorry, in this time you are second....
and a WINNER's.......

No comments. Genial idea and brilliant shot and fold. I think you was little better than on the rest participants. My congratulations!!!
!!!!!!!!
The challenge for September is ''Ancient Egypt'', of which Quentin will be invited to judge at the end of September and creator to the October challenge.
Enjoy!

Wow ! Thank you, I never thought this would make it anywhere the top entries, given the competition. I'm also very glad that you chose Quentin's entry, it's my favourite as well - in this we totally agree
