Wouldn't that get too thick to fold?
No, especially if you use really cheap foil. Tissue foil does tend to wrinkle a lot (unavoidable), so it generally does not look too good. It is also hard to reverse crease directions with tissue foil. The stuff holds its shape very well, but it certainly has its downsides.

I've had terrific results -- much better than with foil or tissue foil -- with a single ply of MC'd thai unryu...

Here's a sample result if you use tissue foil.

This one's tissue foil as well. The tissue was super-thin, as a result the finished model is super-wrinkly. Next time I'll try slightly thicker paper.

Here is my moose, it took a long time to fold. I think I used the wrong paper: a big sheet of brown craft paper.

Looks a lot like my moose except with spread layers for the eye.

When I folded it, I used just average paper from art and craft stores, so it got EXTREMELY thick and ripped about 1/3 of the back, and the back of the moose wouldn't stay folded, so it looked more like a rug, as several people have mentioned.
