Coelacanth by Chad Killeen (wrong direction of creases)

Post by maik.fischer »

Maybe someone can help me:
The red parts of this crease pattern contain flaps that can't be collapsed like the other ones because the creases have the wrong directions. How to collapse areas like that?
Thank you!

I don't know how you folded the rest of the CP, but in general:
At any vertex, the number of valley and mountain folds always differs by two in either direction.

So that makes at your marked parts that there are either 5 valley and 3 mountain or 5 mountain and 3 valley folds.

I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks, I didn't mention the "5valley-3mountain"-version. Still very hard to collapse...^^
