How to locate reference points?

I figured it was an alternate method ... but I do get what the both of you are saying. One thing I don't like about folding a whole grid, is the tiny squares left on the final model. I'm definitely not an excellent folder, lol. I just thought that perhaps there was a way to cheat getting what I needed rather than take the long route and have many more creases and grid-like squares all over the model.

Instead of a metallic ball, I use an empty ball point pen, its alittle rough on paper but you get what you pay for! :wink:

I tried that ... it works ok but doesn't leave much of a mark on copy paper for my draft models. It leaves the slightest indent and I have to try and work that fold manually to get a good full crease :-(
