I can't fix it (get the eyes in front of the face and not the sides)... but three sheets ( a square and two equilateral triangles).
The only way to make a good haunter... is to completely divorce the hand from the body >:3
If this isn't what was meant by more than one sheet, I'll count myself out.

Katamari Prince

Image

The little green guy. From the game Katamari Damacy. Yes, the setup was necessary.

Two sheets: one for the body and one for the face. The face is completely fixed in the head and can't be removed without unfolding.

My first entry for the challenges : a daisy.

Yellow = paper copy 21x21cm (1 sheet) tesselation
green = elephant hide 35x20 cm (2 sheets)
white = bloc-note paper 9x9 cm (as necessary and depending of the result)

In french : effeuiller la marguerite...
Il(elle) m'aime, un peu, beaucoup, passionnément, à la folie, pas du tout !

One of my "wildest" folds ever - about 100 folded rectangles - NO Glue !

I really love that daisy. Awesome idea and rendition. Best one in this topic ;)

And the multi-function ape is incredible.

Way to go Sunburst! Who doesn't love the prince I agree the setup was totally necessary! Hope the prince didn't roll up to much of your stuff or your house! You could say its a 32 piece model total including the katamari! Is that just a sonobe? I made one of those just yesterday.

Ray95...I'm intrigued. Very nice conceptualization (unsure if a word) and execution.

firstfold...Uh...All hail Ceaser!

I had an interesting idea, either for this challenge or another months, but what do you guys think about a multi-piece model made from several origamist and then compiled together; each origamist making one piece. Parts could even be randomly put together for a chimeric effect.

I think it is GREAT people want to show they admire/enjoy someone's fold...but this is truly the wrong place to do it. What about all the other contenders? I feel a PM would suffice to show you think a model excels, rather than in this topic. It seems like people play favorites almost, not to mention that it can certainly demoralize others. It happens every month just about as well, not just this month and I think it should be handled differently.
Please, add me on flickr and tell me what you think!

Actually, now that you say that I have to agree. Perhaps only constructive criticism on these threads.

I apologize if this was slightly late...

I really liked all of the (few*) entries, and it was very difficult to decide who will be the three (four) winners!

*There were like, 6-7 entries...? I still based it on the 1st/2nd/3rd place system because I felt like it.
---
In 3rd place...

Firstfold with ... SllipnStick Monkey Face!

I think this was a very interesting approach towards a modular challenge. I liked how it has several other "functions", such as moving mouth, rolling eyes, etc.

My only criticism is that I was expecting more of unique modules and pieces rather than slip and stick constructions for this challenge. Despite this, I can tell there was a lot of effort put into this.

In 2nd place...

Ahudson and Sunburst with... Bannerfish (2) and Katamari! (respectively)

Image

I couldn't decide which was to be 2nd place, so I chose both. The Bannerfish was a humorous and creative approach to the subject, while the Katamari Prince was simply amazing. Good job you two.

And in 1st place...

Ray95 with... a daisy!

Image

Clear photography, overall creative approach... The texture of the center of the flower really defined it, and the fact that the petals could be pulled out gives it a realistic touch as well (she loves me, she loves me not...).

Congratulations to the winners, and if you are curious as to what I thought about your entries, then feel free to shoot a message to me.

Now I have to think about what to do for this month's challenge...

...eughhh.
