Wake is a sound-activated field recorder. Set a threshold, arm it, and let the sound start the take. Come back to the bird call, the passing train, the voice or the knock you wanted to catch. For field notes, foley, nature recordings, voice notes and musical ideas. See what you hear as a live spectrum, mark the moments worth keeping, and turn a recording into audio, a captioned video or a timestamped transcript. CATCH THE SOUND Set the threshold, trigger EQ, pre-roll, post-roll and hold. The gate listens for the sound you choose and keeps the lead-in and tail. Use the microphone, a connected audio input, a WaveLoop stream, or a compatible Ableton Link Audio channel on your local network. MARK THE MOMENT Tap the flag while recording to add a bookmark. Wake suggests a name from what it heard; change it whenever you like. Add bookmarks during review, then hold and drag a marker on the tape to move it. Their names and positions travel into video exports. FOLLOW THE TAPE Push through a recording's waterfall with your finger, with capture times beside the sound. Review the whole session or its individual takes. Library cards show duration, take count, what was heard and optional capture location. Play a recording with the screen locked, use headphone controls, and return to where you stopped. SHARE WHAT YOU CAUGHT Render SQUARE videos for feeds, VERTICAL for stories, or a STRIP to lay over another scene. Researchers at Monash University have developed the low FODMAP diet and a corresponding app to assist in the management of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The Monash University FODMAP diet works by swapping foods high in fermentable carbohydrates (FODMAPs), with low FODMAP alternatives. Around 75% of people with IBS experience symptom relief on a low FODMAP diet. The app uses Apple’s workout system, so all workouts are saved to the Health system. However it also provides many extra features over Apple's app, such as: - a super-smooth vector map that can be shown during a workout; - multiple configurable screens with metrics and graphs from a pool of 800+ data fields; - route files can be imported and used for navigation (including turn by turn directions); - dozens of configurable alerts (e.g. every mile; high heart rate; low pace; off-route etc); - interval schedules can be created using the larger screen of the phone app; - climbs and descents are supported with notifications and on-screen data and graphs; - waypoints can be created, navigated to, and exported; - use shortcuts to associate operations with gestures (e.g. double tap to hear configurable metrics); - compare pace against a target or a previous workout (using metrics and a dot on the map); - show zones for pace and power as well as heart rate (with optional coloured backgrounds); - auto-pause is available for all outdoor activities; - shows GPS and heart rate before starting a workout, so that you can wait for good signals; - configure distance and pace for running / walking to come from Apple’s pedometer or from GPS; - workouts can be exported in FIT / TCX / GPX files, or automatically sent to Strava; - workouts created by the app can be analysed in great depth in the iPhone app. The app also has many more features. The map is a particular highlight. It uses OpenStreetMap, which provides worldwide coverage and includes the trails necessary for outdoor workouts. It also has several features that help you navigate during a workout: - maps can be smoothly panned and zoomed, and can rotate according to the compass; - a breadcrumb trail of your whole route is displayed on the map during the workout; - topographic data can be shown, with configurable contour colours and hill shading; - map-only mode is provided for when you don't want to start a workout and just need a map; - a circular scale is shown when you zoom, making it easy to see the distance to features; - maps can be stored on the watch for use when offline (they are downloaded as required if online); - a red compass points north and a green compass points to the start; - choose a waypoint to see a compass and distance to it in the corner of the map; - you can also navigate to waypoints on the map, such as hospitals, sights, cafes etc. If you load a route from a GPX / TCX / FIT file then navigation is even easier: - your position is shown on an elevation profile of the route; - the remaining distance, time and ascent can also be displayed; - you can get alerted when you go off-route; - when off-route then a compass is shown which points to the nearest part of the route; - if the route contains turn by turn directions then these can be used like a sat nav; - if there are no directions then the app can use “bend detection” to generate them; - the next direction is shown as an icon and distance in the corner of the map; - the map can automatically zoom in when you are approaching a turn; - you can use shake gestures to hear the distance to the next turn or the end of the route; - routes are coloured by gradient: from red for steep uphill to blue for steep downhill; - you can configure what information is displayed during a climb or descent. All this is included for a single one-off payment. No extra in-app purchases or subscriptions are required (although there is a completely optional in-app tip jar which was requested by long-term users). The purpose of Crack the Reading Code is to teach what is practical for reading: - Shape - Writing direction - Sound. These are the foundations of reading. Children can then acquire the essential knowledge that letters represent sounds, fit together and make words that have meaning. The content has been developed by experienced Danish teachers and special education teachers - A supplement to writing textbooks and reading education Use the app for 10 minutes at home with your child or at school to add variety to the first daily reading practice. Children in kindergarten who are curious about letters will also think it's exciting. * THE SOUND OF THE LETTERS BEFORE THE NAMES. Children often learn the names of the letters instead of the sound of the letters. This means that they must apprehend something that they cannot use for their further reading. Often, they will have to relearn it when they are shown sounds at school that they have to use to read. Broadly speaking, they have no use for the letter names in the initial stages of reading. Crack the Reading Code uses exclusively letter sounds. * THE 120 MOST USED WORDS AS WORD PICTURES. Many of the 120 most used words are not spelled as they sound. Therefore, it is a big help to recognize these as word pictures. Children won't be forced to sound it out here, but instead just recognize the word like they recognize their own name or that a big yellow M means McDonald's. That is why these 120 are trained as word pictures in Crack the Reading Code. Uppercase letters for the intermediate learner. Many children first learn the 'big letters'. Of course, these must also be learned, but it should happen only when the child already recognizes the 'small letters.' It is easier to relate to one shape per sound than two. When they have learned the lowercase letters, they can already recognize the letters in the books they must read. Switching between the 'lowercase' and 'uppercase' in 'Settings.' Settings: -Turn the music in the menus on/off -Hide the text direction. Hiding the text direction increases the level of difficulty. -Switch between uppercase and lowercase letters.
