Οι πολιτικές που ακολούθησαν οι τρεις ελληνικές κατοχικές κυβερνήσεις, ο ρόλος εμπόρων, βιομηχάνων, πολιτικών μηχανικών και άλλων στις οικονομικές συναλλαγές με τους κατακτητές, η δράση της Ελληνικής Βασιλικής Χωροφυλακής, των Ταγμάτων Ασφαλείας, των Ελλήνων πρακτόρων των Ες-Ες και άλλων, που συγκρότησαν το ένοπλο σκέλος της συνεργασίας, και η δικαστική τους αντιμετώπιση μετά το τέλος της κατοχής, βρίσκονται στο επίκεντρο αυτής της μελέτης. Η συνεργασία με τον κατακτητή χαρακτήρισε την καθημερινότητα σε όλη την κατεχόμενη Ευρώπη. Πολιτικοί, στρατιωτικοί, επιχειρηματίες, δήμαρχοι, δικαστές, ιερείς, δημοσιογράφοι, συνεργάστηκαν στενά με τις αρχές κατοχής, για πολλούς και διαφορετικούς λόγους. Η αρχικά διαφαινόμενη νίκη της Γερμανίας στον πόλεμο, ο αντικομμουνισμός, η απόκτηση γρήγορου και εύκολου πλούτου, η ιδεολογική ταύτιση με την εθνικοσοσιαλιστική Γερμανία και τη φασιστική Ιταλία, η ανάγκη επιβίωσης, ήταν μερικοί από αυτούς. Στην Ελλάδα, αν και έχουν περάσει 80 ολόκληρα χρόνια από το τέλος της κατοχής, το ζήτημα της συνεργασίας με τον κατακτητή εξακολουθεί να αποτελεί θέμα-ταμπού. Αυτό είναι αποτέλεσμα της πολιτικής λήθης που ακολούθησαν όλες οι μεταπολεμικές κυβερνήσεις, στην προσπάθειά τους να διαχειριστούν τις πολιτικές συνέπειες του πρωτόγνωρου, σε ένταση και έκταση, συλλογικού τραύματος που προκάλεσε στην ελληνική κοινωνία η συνεργασία. Η συνεργασία με τον κατακτητή υπήρξε η αφετηρία του νέου διχασμού, ο οποίος, με τη συμβολή και άλλων παραγόντων, οδήγησε στις εμφύλιες συγκρούσεις της κατοχής, των Δεκεμβριανών και τελικά στον εμφύλιο πόλεμο της δεκαετίας του 1940. |

«Θα έπρεπε να γράψετε ένα βιβλίο για τη μαμά». Κουβέντα από την Τζωρτίνα στα γενέθλια της Μαρινέλλας, πριν από χρόνια.  Το άκουσα, το ξέχασα. Δεν το πήρα αψήφιστα, αλλά ήξερα πως είμαι ακατάλληλος για βιογράφος, εξαιτίας του ύφους που γράφω. Καλώς ή κακώς.  Από αλλού ξεκινώ και αλλού βρίσκομαι, παρεμβαίνει το θυμικό μου, νευριάζω με τους ήρωές μου, κάνω αυτά που κάνω, ώστε να μη συμπεριλαμβάνομαι στους τρέχοντες κολοσσούς της λογοτεχνίας.  Δεν παραληρώ για τα αποδεκτά «πολιτικώς ορθά» και de facto απυρόβλητα μείζονα θέματα.  Με τέτοιον χαρακτήρα πώς να αναλάβω μια Μαρινέλλα, με την οποία ναι μεν μας συνδέουν μερικές ενδιαφέρουσες δεκαετίες, αλλά δεν θα μου προέκυπταν φωτοστέφανα και θαυμαστικές κορόνες για τον μελωδικό κόσμο της νύχτας.  «Ξέρετε, εγώ…». Έφερνα αντιρρήσεις, ξέροντας τον χαρακτήρα μου. Η άλλη πλευρά επέμενε: «Κάνετε λάθος…». «Μα είμαι ολόκληρος ένα κινούμενο λάθος», απαντούσα. Τελικά, ο βιογράφος «εάλω»…  «Εσύ με ξέρεις» ― η Μαρινέλλα.  «Εγώ σ’ αγαπώ, αλλά φοβάμαι ότι εσύ δεν με ξέρεις», απαντούσα.  Τσούλησε ένα διάστημα με «σε ξέρω», «δεν με ξέρεις», ώσπου να το πάρουμε απόφαση και να ξεκινήσουν τα μεσημεριανά συμπόσια εις μνήμην του Πλάτωνα και άλλων συγγενών ανάλογων συμποσιακών εμπειριών.  Έτσι προχωρήσαμε, φωτίζοντας με μεσημβρινό φως νύχτες ή και μέρες μιας ζωής από χώμα, φωνή, έρωτα, μόχθο και πολλή αγάπη. Κι έγινε ένα βιβλίο που, χωρίς να είναι a priori βιογραφία, άρχισε να μοιάζει με μυθιστόρημα δικό μου.  Γ. Ξ. |
